I liked my old 2fos. Good amount of protection especially around the toes, but unlike the famous climbing brand, quick drying! And grippy enough.

Alas my second pair is on its last few laps now, and specialized have changed everything haven't they. In particular they swapped the sensible rubber upper for leather, so I can't imagine their new ones being as quick drying or as durable with repeated use in winter filth. And of course they made everything silly complicated with separate trail, all mountain and downhill versions.

What's the most sensible substitute, does one of the new range do the job ok or can you point me elsewhere?

(PSA Decathlon does something that looks like a 2fo clone, but having seen it in store, it's nowhere near as stiff).

Just get the 2FO DH, and relax knowing you’ve just done it right.

As above get the Downhill ones.

Leisure Lakes have them reduced right now as well so I've snagged a second pair...

I bought 2F0 roosts in August 2021 and they are still going strong. Was a bit worried about the suede section but not been an issue.

Dry quicker than fiveten sponges (always take the foot bed out) and have held up to abuse. The toe bumper on one foot has started to delaminate, but that’s my fault for kicking rocks!

The slip knot sole is as grippy as stealth rubber! I also love the lace keepers.

Will be buying another pair soon!

Ah great, that settles that then. Yes the sale price is what triggered this post.

After my initial rant I'm surprised nobody suggested steel toecap wellies! cheers all.

If your after size 46 old 2fo shoes, I have a pair I didn't get on with, only worn twice.

Interesting, was looking at these the other day.

@stuartlangwilson Might be interested if the OP isn't, I'm a £46. Which ones and how much would you want for them please?

I am interested and messaged Stuart, but no reply! Fair play if you got them already 🙂
