Is it an easy job, do you need special tools?

Which bearings and best place for them?

Thanks

Easy, knock the old ones out with a drift (screwdriver).

Tap the new ones in using a socket that's only VERY slightly smaller than the bearing.

My very old 240s takes 6902 .

I get 'em from Wych Bearings, fantastic service.

it's a bit of a myriad of working out which bearings you need, as the DT Swiss tech docs are about as clear as mud.

I had to guess mine in the end, thankfully I guessed right. I ended up with Enduro ones.

Yes they take 6902 2RS bearings and we have them at BETD too.

Which 240 is it?

What axle? Centrelock or 6-bolt?

And don't assume that because you have hubs that use 240 internals that the front bearings are the same - Rovals can be different to 'stock' 240s. Pop your end caps off and check. They're easy to change.

Yup. And because 240s last forever, and because DT actually evolve their products rather than selling the same thing for decades, there's some really old ones out there with different parts in. They're all basically the same but you can't assume anything.

Sometimes I think the whole Boost fiasco was invented by DT just so they could kill off all their unkillable, more or less unimprovable, no reason to ever replace it old stuff and sell some new ones

Cheers, I'll wait until I get the wheel back from the builder and have a closer look. It's a 240s hub, think one of the adapters unscrews?

Bought it on here a while ago as being in good nick and only recently realised it was notchy...my fault for going on trust and not checking.

Are there reasonably priced tools in stock anywhere to do the front and rear bearings?

Thanks
