What are the options other than shimano ones? Seem to get through them quite quickly

Are the uberbike ones and similar OK on shimano xt 11 speed mechs? The tooth profile on the official shimano upper jockey wheel is much different to all the aftermarket ones, is this likely to make any real world differences?

Abigale has been running the Uberbike ones for most of the year with no problems. Includes a season of racing Enduro

Proper M8000 shimano ones from SJS, £16 from memory. Fitted them today ready for
tomorrow. My lower one was well and truly knackered!

Been using Uberbike on my 10 speeds and they've been great. Ceramic bearing version as they last longer (though they only sell purple ones now oddly).

I was using KCNC previously but their prices went through the roof. Uberbike seals are perhaps not quite so good as got crud in one and it did seize up, but cleaned it up and good again.

Big thing with a lot of these CNC'd jockeys is they are well vented and shed mud easily and easy to clean. SRAM jockeys are awful. Each ride may as well pull the jockeys out to clean them as a normal bike wash won't cut it.

11 speed - according to their web site "9/10 speed compatible, Shimano and Campagnolo 11 speed compatible"

Should be good for XT. I'm interested myself to replace the crappy and incredibly overpriced SRAM jockeys on my 11 speed. SRAM/Shimano should be compatible I believe.

Cheers fathomer, yep I've had the genuine replacement ones before and they have worn out at an alarming rate for some reason

So hoping try something different the uberbike ones are 19.99 so only a bit more and look like they'd shed mud and grime well

Cheers for info deadkenny it was more the profile on the upper xt jockey wheel that was of concern as it has longer ramped teeth than the lower one

But I reckon I'll give them a shot could get hope but there not far off double the price

Uberbike and KCNC are just same jockey top and bottom. SRAM have a "floating" jockey on one (top?). Think the floating jockey is to aid shifting but I've noticed no difference with KCNC or Uberbike. Shimano obviously have their own special tweak I guess to achieve something similar. Probably unnecessary.

The floating upper pulley that both S brands use mean the mech is more tolerant of less than perfect set ups, so pretty useful in the real world.

How about ceramic speed? €800.... wtf! 😯

Slight hijack but I was about to start a very similar thread... what do you lot do with sram xx1 jockeys? Can find nothing sub £40.

Don't the 11speed ones have an extra tooth I'm sure they look bigger than 10 speed ones?

The SRAM X01/XX1 seem to have 12 teeth instead of 11, and so I guess are slightly larger. The £40+ SRAM ones also have thick/thin teeth. I've never had a chain drop off a jockey, nor can I see how it would so can't see what on earth that does other than justify the £40 price tag (that and ceramic bearings).

It's likely Uberbike should still work, just the jockeys are smaller and 11 teeth. Uberbike ceramic are still half the price of SRAM and still ceramic bearings, but with the bonus of well vented and durable CNC alloy instead of swiss cheese plastic mud cloggers of SRAM.

I'll see though as got X01 11 speed on one bike and those jockeys will need replacing. I'm not likely to get the SRAM ones.
