Buggered my 2 ride old 2.2 rubberqueen black chilli today.Put a 7mm gash in tyre tread area.Does anyone make a patch to repair such things?
Cheers John
John, Velox make a tubeless patch kit. Proper thick, non-stretchy patches that work spot on.
I could bring mine in to the shop tomorrow if you need it.
Hi Mat,
that would be great.See you tomorrow.
Cheers John.
No worries
do these velox patches really work?
my stans sealant wouldnt seal my hole, nor would those stringy things from weldtite, it just popped back out 🙁
id given up on it TBH, but if these patches work then could save my x king ust tyre 🙁
Yes, yes they do
does the sealant not make the patches work loose?
Doesn't seem to have for me. They're not really an emergency repair but if used properly and left to dry well then they work spot on
cool, cheers for the help, id given up on repairing it, and put it away thinking that was that, i love the tyre though!
not needed for emergency for sure, this is just to get it working again, its now folded away RIP'ing, so im hopeful this will work then!
now, where to buy!
Ey up John - me too! Nearly new RQ with a 5-7mm slash.
Looks like I'll be talking to Matt for tips as well!
Aye up Phil,
Think Mat is the resident tubless expert!
or just use a normal tubed patch, and superglue the outside
I had thought about supergluing the slit up.
Normal patch on the inside - with rubber solution or superglue?
