Have a tiny scratch (3mm) on a stanchion that I've covered with a lovely shade of pink sparkly nail varnish. 18hrs on and I can cause an indent with my fingernail - how long till it really hardens and I can buff smooth?

And if this doesn't work, is it worth trying Araldite? Or a enamel bath repair kit thingy?

Cheers

you have to sit in front of the telly waving it ineffectively in the air for an ahour if it's anything like doing fingernails.

(clearly more care is needed with forks so you don't accidently 'own' your nearest and dearest as they settle down to watch Corrie).

I think you're supposed to build it up with several thin layers rather than just wack a load on to fill in the scratch as it won't dry

As bakes said. When I repaird several quite deep scratches on mine, I literally applied one/two strokes of nail varnish, left it to dry for an hour. Then repeated.

You spelt stanchion all wrong! with a ch in it, and you did it in caps to make it worse! What's that about?!

😉
