My mate has these bars going spare but just want to check if you all think they are safe to use as heard some horror stories of carbon snapping!!

There are small dents where the clamps on the grips were. They were tightened to 3nm using verified torque wrench. Having spoke to Renthal they say anything 5nm and below is fine but would have to have the bars in for testing to confirm.

The dents are very very light and just wondering if it was just the lacquer or should worry these bars are weakened.

Might be a worry over nothing, but would rather see what people thought before using or buying a set of cheap alloy bars!

I'd not worry about those.

I have carbon bars on both bikes and I am a tall heavy guy, Renthal are a reputable company and I would definitely trust those. If you were going cheap chinese I would be wary but those look fine.

Mmm, they are a wee bit dentier than I like but it wouldn't put me off buying them- they'd still be among the best condition carbon bars I've ever had, mine always get beaten up.

Will roll with them as it seems all will be fine! I don't exactly do any big jumps or drops... well if any!
