Anyone got any tips on how to get old Stans sealant off the tyre innards? I have a very sticky layer inside the tyre which sticks the tyre inside together when handling. the tyre, which is not helpful when trying to get the bead to seat or a tube in and out during emergencies.
Once this bottle is used up I may switch to Squirt after seeing a promo demo video of it claiming no sticky residue etc - any one got experience of it? I have stuck with Stans for years as it was the first one I bought originally and having a disaster trying another brand (Fenwicks Airtight), but a sticky mess and failing on a few small cuts is got me thinking of a switch.

Or try the sealant remover that Muc-Off do?

I've found that once the tyre is removed washing any wet residue out of the tyre and then turning inside out and placing the tyre in the sun to dry the rest out works

2 options; dry or wet.

Dry; leave until totally baked and get out the wire brush.

Wet; get out a bit of your fave solvent on a wet rag (white spirit etc) and give it a scrub.

It's literally designed to glue on - it isn't going to come off easily (or it would be useless at its own job!),

will try the sun bake this weekend 🙂

This makes me wonder how the squirt ' no sticky residue' works

I have found that using a dish brush with some washing up liquid and water, then turn inside out and let dry helps. Still a lot of picking though.

I'm sure I read somewhere that degreaser works. Not tried it though...
