How is it done.? I am following guide but can't get my head around how the seals come off. The seals don't look big enough to stretch over the cylinder.?
Am I missing something.? 😳
I did this just the other week. I followed the same guide.
The toughest parts were to get the seals off and on the cylinder.
Getting them off isnt an issue really as you'll bin them anyway (I broke one and got the other off intact).
To get them on, they arent that stretchy, so I put them in hot water first to try and make them more supple. I then used the circlip pliers to prise the seal open a onto the cylinder. a bit worrying, but I never broke the seal.
Also getting the circlip back on was easier to just knock in with a small screw driver rather than use circlip pliers.
Feel like new now 🙂
lube the seals with brake fluid.
Not as fragile as I thought they would be. All done cheers.
