Have an old Giant alu frame and would like to remove the tatty paint from it... Anybody used Nitro Mors or similar for this purpose? Or any other methods? Please tell!!! Cheers

Yep, nuke it with nitromors. Depending on the finish you might also need to wire brush it, I have no idea at all what my old carrera was painted with but it was incredibly tough, multiple attacks with nitromors, wire brush, eventually i threw in the towel and used a wire wheel in a drill. I'd expected it to be rubbish but it was far tougher than the paint on my motorbike.

oh, and you know how loads of stuff has warnings saying "Do not get on skin" "wear gloves", but often you can ignore it and all seems fine? DON'T! This stuff is evil, even little second-hand splashes off the brush burn like hell. Surgical rubber gloves alone are no good, you'll want to protect your forearms somehow- old tshirt or similiar.

Look for Chemical Stripping on Yell.com.
It will cost you about £10 & save a bugger load of hassle.
