I've never taken this type of crank off before. I'm guessing it's self extracting?

I can get half a turn on the bolt, then it's super stiff again. Maybe trying to break the contact, I dunno.

Do I just need to give it some (anti clockwise?) and it will come?

I didn't initially want to get heavy with it, considering it's attached to a rather expensive motor

Currently looking for vids, but not found one yet.

looks self extracting..

perhaps get some lube in there for when the inner bolt turns against the extractor cap

Yeah id tighten that half turn back in, clean out (got some muc off/degreaser?), then penetrating oil of your choice, then go at it.

as the others say it looks like a self extracting one - you can also remove the outer ring and then use a conventional puller

It’s self extracting so just keep turning and it will loosen and pull the crank out.
