Hi folks. Bought a 2nd hand Mojo HD3 minus metal chainstay protector. Ordered a replacement but previous owner has mibbe tried to glue the old one on a couple of times. Replacement doesn't quite fit properly, not helped by excess glue.
The old glue looks pretty translucent but is on solid- possibly some sort of epoxy. I'm not sure how best to remove it. Dremmel with a fine grinding wheel and just take my time or some sort of chemical method?
Thanks in advance.
to be safe.. grind, file, sand
if it is epoxy.. so is your frame, what takes that off won't do your chainstay strength much good
Cheers mate. Wasn't sure but makes sense!
Have I already messaged you on PB about wheels BTW??
aha yes lol didnt realise it was you 🙂
Nail varnish remover may help to soften the adhesive but make sure you clean it thoroughly after as prolonged exposure to acetone can damage epoxy-based composites
Just a gentle grind, file and sand before sticking the plate back on. Cheers folks!
Alan- I'll fire you a message in a week or so btw!
