You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Heading north of the border in early September and visiting some trail centres, but really fancy a couple of days in the middle of nowhere, away from it all and riding something natural. Any suggestions? The more remote the better, don't mind a bit of hike-a-bike etc.
Check out the forums and articles on TrailScotland, loadsa stuff on there that'll get you away from the "trail by numbers" trail centres
Thanks somafunk, good stuff. 🙂
Applecross, amazing views above the coast 🙂
Burma Road, you probably won't see anyone, but the commitment is not so severe if you're on your own.
The Beinn a Ghlo circuit is a popular route that is sort of a gatekeeper ride to the really remote stuff. Easily accessible at Blair Atholl on the A9, but a great wilderness feeling once you're into it - minimal hike a bike and a nice length, around 30 miles IIRC.
Would make a nice companion piece to something more teeth-gritting, e.g. the Ben Alder circuit up the road.
