In the middle of a rare upgrade, fitting an 11 speed xt shifter.
Will be uninterrupted outers from shifter to rear mech.
In the box there are 4 'normal' end caps, one that has a long narrow bit on it, and one inch long rubbery one.
The non-rubbery ones will fit over the cable outers but the rubber one doesn't.
15 mins of googling hasn't gotten me anywhere closer to resolution, so:
what are the 'special' ones for?

The "rubbery one" fits over the "long narrow bit" as extra waterproofing.
