I just finished re-building this early 90s Serotta frame, I bought it in the late 90s from a bike shop that was importing Serotta to Germany/Switzerland/Austria at that time, and who never sold it; it is a limited run of fillet-brazed frames by Serotta and is labelled #2. Parts were never original even when I bought it but it still features Suntour XC Pro brake levers, old XT cantis, a pre-parallax XTR front hub (and a VERY cheap rear hub), a custom-built eccentric bottom bracket (similar to TrickStuff), a new PX/Nitto bar, cheap but ugly RF cranks, Bontrager saddle, a CK look-alike Velo Orange headset, and a not-very-period RF carbon seatpost after one-too-many aluminium seatposts got stuck...
The bike was always too small for me, but after getting it stripped off its red colour and clear powder-coated, it's a fine-looking frame again (in my eyes), I hope the bar/stem combo doesn't distract too much from the frame, but it's near-impossible to find a nice 1" MTB stems in (my age-)appropriate lengths/angles, the old 150mm Syncros stem just didn't do it for me anymore...
