Morning,
I’ve found a few posts talking about brass rods or zip tie mods. I couldn’t seem to see (unless I missed them) any additional channels for extra rods on mine. Is it possible to drop the travel down?

Thanks
Chris

see this post from last year.

https://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/brand-x-ascend-xl-travel-reduce/

I've done it with small bits of zip tie for my son... which meant as he grew, i could just cut them down allowing him to use as much of the dropper as possible.

Depends which brand x. The older ones are the same as a Oneup V1 - you reduce them with a plastic spacer. The newer ones can’t be shortened from the research I did. The Oneup v2 you add in small brass spacers where the keys run - I’m not sure any brand x posts use this method.

Not 100% from your pic but that looks like the 'older' Brand X that you can use the plastic spacers (same as OneUp) method in. Did this for my GFs Brand X with cutting my own space from a take away carton. Zipties doe the same job as well I suspect.

Im guessing the post is too long making the swat too high. I can't use anything more than a 125mm dropper on my bikes which already have small frames.

Thanks all. Yes it seems I had the older version so mocked up a shim from old mudguard from the dimensions here (post #370 if anyone is that interested!).

New frame and got a 170 cheap. Thought it would work..but just too long…was worth having a tinker to shorten it.
