Got a set of Reba forks I would really rather like to shorten to 80mm! They are making the karate monkey way too slack at the minute! I would like to do it before the weekend.

Do you STW sages have any advice on what part I need and does anyone have one?

If they're dual air you just need an all travel spacer, if they are solo air you'll need a new air shaft.

Put the serial number (on the back of the fork crown) into here:

https://trailhead.rockshox.com/en/search/

and then you can see the part (air shaft) you need + model year etc

I've some 100mm's for my SIR.9, which runs better with 80mm. If you get nowhere I might be up for a swap.

I have some NOS Reba 29'ers and just popped the serial into the link provided....I'm not too sure if I understand whether these have any ability to change the travel from the current 100mm...can anyone run an eye over for me - I may just be being completely thick...

Thanks!

Ah, good point. The fork check thingy only lists damper upgrades and remotes. Apologies - not that helpful!
Anyway, unless someone else can correct me, I understand that any solo air fork with markings for 80,100 and 120mm can be changed to any of those with an air shaft change. That's what I've done in the past anyway - 80-100 and a 100-120 and it all worked. In all cases the damper worked at the longer length, but you can check this by dropping the lowers.

I can't help with the travel but if you route the hose on the inside of the leg it will look a lot tidier and stop me twitching 😉

You can always go down in travel, the only issue is when going up, if the stanchions are too short.
So something like this should work: https://www.bike24.com/p2130915.html

I have similar ones that i upped from 100 to 120 with a new air shaft.

Easy enough to do but yes, not as easy as the old dual air with spacers due to the need to reach the pressure equalising notch. I much preferred dual air forks 🙁
