As far as trail centres go, I've only ridden CYB and Llandegla and didn't exactly find either particularly challenging, despite parts being Black graded.
Are there red runs that would be classed as more demanding than these two locations, and are there any blacks that would scare the shit out of me? I've picked up on the fact that British grading is pretty varied and laughable compared to other country's. Does Scotland lean more towards proper grading?

I rode the Glentress Black the other day and was thinking after the removal of the woodwork the route doesn't seem that tricky.
I agree Laggan Black has a fair bit of challenging bits on it. The ride into the slab at Dalbeattie is pretty rocky too. Kirroughtree also has a few challenging bits too. The grading is pretty varied but I think that is quite often the case.
