Just watched the men's race. Apart from the terrible TV coverage it was a great race and what a ride from the winner. I'll catch up with the women's race later.

I enjoyed that. the racing was great, commentry was OK, Rob's enthusiasm not quite matched by Jose, but still a few funny ones in there. camera footage shoud have been great, drones, on bike footage (very cool) and cameras all around. but the shots were't great, grainy, cut out and not as well cut together as say, the UCI WC.

Still, the racing certaily made up for that!

I wonder how much involvement Red Bull actually had? I'd guess they've just taken the pictures supplied. However, it's good to see more XC racing available to watch live - the sport needs more than just the World Cup for regular live coverage.

And for both races to be won by British riders is something to celebrate; I do wonder if we'll view this as a 'golden era' in years to come. Both Evie & Tom have won plenty of big races in MTB & CX over the last few years....

I assume they bankroll it and you get as much or as little as you pay for, within the realms of practicality. Its probably the same guys and cameras as will be at Nove Mestro next week.

More importantly we were able to get live drone footage, and live on board footage, although only Nino had one. Did he get paid to have it, did he volunteer? it looked like a standard gopro on the bars, but there must have been some other stuff to handle the transmission.
