Quoting directly from a friend of mine

"My husband had a stroke a couple of years ago and has some right sided weakness . We think the only option would be a recumbent trike with all the gears and brakes on the left. I'm struggling to find any bike shops in this region ( a few online), that sell these kinds of bikes or maybe custom made. Just thought with your huge bike knowledge you may have some idea."

They live in Somerset and can't really find anyone who can help them. Happy to travel to try a bike/discuss modifications but don't know where to start. Neither do I frankly but hoped somebody here could help.

Perhaps ben kinetics would be a good start, long way a away but having seen his projects and his work shop he definantly has the knowledge , skills and tooling for such a project

Hi, try Quest88 in Shifnal, they supplied the Battleback Centre for wounded soldiers with all manner of bikes, trikes and recumbents. I helped with the testing and the folks at Quest88 were really good to deal with, I spent a few days at Cannock using one of their off road trike recumbents and it was scary fast...

Definitely possible - I've seen it done, ready for someone recovering from shoulder surgery.
ICE Trikes in Cornwall might also be able to help.

Thanks - mailed Ben and passed on the Quest88 details. Both look promising. Much appreciated.
