How bad is bad? A sprained ankle can be worse / more long ill effects than a fracture. Maybe go and get it checked out properly?  ie if for them to only say it’s sprained due crutches for a few days

Get it properly checked out... I went to a and e when I rolled my ankle, to be told it was a sprain. Turns out i'd torn ligaments and their advice of use as much as possible was the complete opposite of what I should have been doing.  Screwed up my planned travels big time 🙁

So I feel your (his) pain.  Can't reccomend anyone in Sheffield, but youryo definitely doing the right thing by seeking specialist help!

I can really recommend 'The Physios' - 1 Beech Hill Rd, Sheffield S10 2SA (next to the Hallamshire Hospital)

I went over on my ankle quite badly on New Years Eve whilst out running. Loud crack, pain, swelling & bruising etc (I couldn't put any weight on it a few hours after the injury)

Strapped it up with zinc-oxide tape and got an appointment straight away - Ultra-sound imaging showed ligament damage but thanks to some intensive treatment over the following weeks I was able to get my snowboard boot on three weeks later.

I can second this. having tried a number of physios over the years, these guys were the only ones that I've been to who weren't snake oil salesman. equeally hear good things about fit 4 physio, but not tried them myseld
