What's popular these days? It's been a while since I bought new tyres...they all seem to be VERY heavy and expensive compared to what I was used to back in 2012/13 when I last bought tyres...

Tend to ride a mix of trail centres and natural stuff on an AM 150 travel bike.

My default choice would've been a Highroller front (2.2/2.35) and SB8/Saguaro rear at 2.0/2.2.

Yep, butcher control front and purgatory control rear would be good.

All WTB tyres come in light or tough casings and fast or grippy compounds.

Hadn't really considered either of the above brands. Any model recommendations for WTB?

I'd say Nobby Nic, good grip, low rolling resistance and quite light, all you could want really.

Depends on where the 'natural' stuff is you ride.

Where I use to live down south it's Mud X season and where I live now it's no different to summer, wet 🙂 So same tyres all year, HR2's with a 3C on the front or Black Chilli Baron's or Marys etc.

And yes, tyres have got heavier.

I'm a big fan of the vigilante. For more speed you could put a trail boss on the rear.
