Hi,

Any recommendations for 28mm tubeless tyres for sticking on a wheelset to use on my CX bike for road riding?

Cheers for any help...

I'm on 32mm spesh roubaix pro just now (30mm tread glued onto a 32mm carcass or some other such nonsense)

Anyhow, they are noticeably more smooov than the 28s I had on prior to that

If you've got the clearance, just go as big as will fit.

I had Continental Sport Contact, they're like a wire bead version of the GP4Season without the re-inforced sidewall (and IME rode nicer as a result but I was comparing 28s to 32s so they would always have felt nicer). The Sport Contact II seems to have gone all gnarmac with a file tread but it's still a bargain by the looks of it.

I've been using Challenge Strada Bianca Race 33 (they have about a billion variations with very similar names, some of which are very expensive) for exactly that purpose for the last few summers. They've been very good- I certainly wouldn't bother with anything slimmer in future. 50 psi and they zip along on the road, take all the sting out of bad tarmac and still happily charge along unmade (even 'gravel') tracks. Used them to venture off onto the singletrack a few times where they work pretty much as you'd expect a slick cross tyre to- ok until you ask them to do anything difficult or there's any moisture.

The only reason I'm not buying more now they're wearing out is that I'm going to move up to a set of Gravelkings (slicks, not sk) now that they come in a 38.

You could look at compass but they are crazy expensive and there do seem to be mixed feelings about how tough they are.

I also meant to agree with this.

Pro-Ones (28mm) on my roadie and G-One All-Rounds (35mm) on my Arkose are both mint.

I’d definitely second the G One Speeds. They are 30c and feel not supple and fast. I like them a lot. They use the original Schwalbw One carcass which was also a good tyre.
