I think my current DHB ones have had it, the pad is thin, undercarriage suffering and the Lycra has shrunk.

What's good for £40-50 ?

Wiggle have some sportful ones at £50 which have good reviews, any others?

Ta

Why not bib? They're far better!

I really like the Lusso ones as per the link. Very comfy.

I find bibs very uncomfortable, so that's why not them 🙂

Will look at the lusso.

Do more panels = more comfy?

Bibs hold your gut in. What's not to like?

So it looks like its between sportful, lusso and funkier.

The Funkier ones are cheaper but get good reviews?

Decathlon 700 is almost always a fine choice at this price, see here. I can't comment on the shorts but the bibs with the same pad are brilliant.

I find bibs very uncomfortable,

In what way ? Best advice i had on bibs from those helpful chaps at Prendas was buy on height not waist, if the bibs are too long then they will be uncomfortable, i went from normally buying an L/XL in various makes to a M Santini and they are perfect.

In what way ?

I have shorter legs, larger torso, so the straps tend to be too tight on my shoulders, plus they always fall off my shoulders. (although that is only from limited experience of full length winter tights, and one pair of bib shorts)

I wouldn't condemn all bib shorts on that basis

I agree but it is a very expensive process to resolve, especially when I currently have no draw backs from non bib.

I bought some Tenn bibs (both long and short) due entirely to the low price I found online, and have found them superb. They also do non-bib shorts.

Having worn both expensive and very cheap tights and shorts, these are the best value for money I have come across. Most importantly, the padding is good and sits in the right place.

You could do a lot worse than to give them a try.

Well in the end I got the Sportful ones.

The Funkier just were not cut anything like as well.
