You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi.
I have had my 2018 Jamis Renegade Elite stolen and am trying to source a replacement. The police seem totally disinterested so doubt I’ll ever see it again.
It was genuinely about as perfect for me as a bike could be, but Evans have none in stock and the 2020 model is not out for months.
What is out there that rides similar, is carbon, Ultegra, hydraulic discs, has FRONT and Rear rack mounts, mudguard mounts and ideally 3 bottle mounts on the main triangle. (It has to be similar enough to convince the insurance to for our for it.)
I mainly commute on poor roads, with a little bike packing and very light off road. I only have space/money for one bike.
The Jamis was £2900 so it would have to be in the same general ballpark to have a chance
I can’t find anything that has that feature set at the right price, but need to give the insurance a quote in the next day or so, so asking for help.
Sorry this is my first post too!
I have shortlisted a few bikes as contenders.
Giant revolt advanced 0 - ticks all the boxes, but I’m struggling to get a ride on one because only 3 are left in uk stock.
Specialized Diverge Comp - a little heavier than I’d hoped and not sure about the future shock.
Orro Terra C - I love it, but really wanted an extra cage mount on the frame and front rack mounts. It has neither.
Reilly Gradient. Really shouldn’t be here. £400 too much. It is gorgeous. How easy is it to get a test ride?
Cannondale Topstone. Looks good but worried that it is too proprietary.
Does anyone have experience of any of these and can give an opinion please?
Btw. The met police have closed the case because of insufficient evidence. It was taken 48 hours ago from the Euston rd, at lunchtime, with 3 cctv cameras pointed straight at it!
Look at the Kinesis gravel/adventure/roadplus/cx range
Cotic, Salsa, Surly etc
@ ElShalimo
Thanks for the suggestions.
Surly don't have anything as light as I want (pretty obviously)
Cotic seem to be all alloy frames and I'd prefer carbon or possibly titanium.
The salsa Warbird looks very interesting, not sure if I can find one in spec and budget, but I will check that out.
The Kinesis tripster ATR is a bit too far out of budget, and the AT is alloy, which I'd rather not go back to.
@cromoloyolly - good spot. I will speak to them, but I have feeling it could get complex to get the insurance to pay up for the bike and import duties all invoiced separately. I will see what they say though.
any other pointers comments are welcome!
