Always borrow my mates Park cutters but would like to be more self-sufficient.

Apart from Park, can anyone recommend decent cable cutters?

Thanks.

Knipex are good gear/brake cable cutters, not for gear/brake outers though.

TBH Park quality is probably going to cost Park prices and is worth paying for IMO.

just FYI, I have the Park ones and really wouldn't recommend them. They don't really cut gear cable well unless too tight to close 🙁

My Shimano ones are about 10 years old and still give a good clean cut. I use them on cables, outers and brake hoses

I've had a set from bikehut for 10yrs now as above used on cables outers and hoses. Still sharp as and look like they've never been used.

I've got some x-tools one and they're absolutely fine. For a lot of things, paying the Park tax isn't really worth it.

Superstar ones here for a year or so.
Good cutters with a handy pointy thing to open out the ends.

CK Cable cutters from Screwfix. Mine were able to trim mudguard stays. I don't think bike tool suppliers have a monopoly on how to cable.

Pretty sure it's the IceTools ones I have. Can't fault them really.
