Hi,

need some recommendations on tubeless as I'm clueless about it. Current rims are going on my other jump bike so looking at a new wheel set. Mainly for trail riding.

Recommendations please!

Mavic 819 & UST tyre, done. Strong but not heavy and no need for faffy deluded ghetto rim tape latex bodging.

Same here 819s & Maxxis UST tyres easy on, seat first time & zero puntures in over a year running all over Wales including Snowdon & some other rocky decents @ low pressures that would have had pinch puntures on my old tubed wheels.

Mavic 819 & Maxxis LUST tyres

I have 823's which as you'd guess are a little wider but I could hit a speeding train with them and only end up with a bill from Richard Branson

819 looks good on set of hope pro 2's from merlin.

Another newbie question - what kind of sealant do I need? Do I need it for tubeless rims or is this just for standard rim conversion?

Sorry, as I said I really have no clue!

You don't need it but a little bit of Stans sealant is good insurance againts the odd thorn - I put 60ml in mine & top up every 3 or 4 months.
