Arse just fell out of my Royal Race storms after barely a season's use. Nice trousers, but nowhere near enough resilient for UK slop.

Can anyone recommend anything that might at least last me for the rest of this winter and next one as well?

Needs to be properly waterproof at least on the bum panels.

@martinhutch
Did you contact them for warranty/refund?
Tape on the arse seams has started lifting and I’ve asked for warranty
They don’t have anything due till summer

Madison Zenith 4-season DWR here, very impressed so far.

Only waterproof panels are bum and thighs, but that works quite well.

I'd get military surplus Goretex if I was gonna be heading out for a long rainy ride though.

let me know if you find any in stock! I have only been able to find supremely ugly ones and/or stuff at the extreme ends of sizing. I liked the look of Troy Lee Resist fwiw, but very little seems to be available of any brand.

Ta all, I've gone back to my Royal shorts in the meantime - they are also leaking, but not as catastrophically!

I managed to find the last pair of Race face Agent trousers
I seen the DHB flashlight trousers are in stock
But reckon there an over trouser but £50 and 15,000 waterproof and breathability

Just over a year - bought them in November last year, wore them until February, so about three months' of riding.

So after a great hunt I finally managed to track down an alternative pair of waterproof trousers
Ones I’d actually wanted way before the royal racing storms
Picked up some Race Face Agent trousers
Damn these are comfy, much better fit that the RR
Will find out on Sunday how they play in wet slop

Fox Ranger 3l

I've been very impressed with these so far, although I was equally impressed with the Ranger waterproof gloves I bought at the same time which are now falling apart after just over a year, hopefully the trousers will not go the same way. I also have a pair of Decathlons AM trousers, not as good in general and not as waterproof but cost £40 instead of £150 for the Fox's, they do a winter version which might be worth a look if they ever have any in stock

Showers pass trousers are ace, more spendy, but really very good.

Another vote for Fox Water Pant 3L, really well thought out and top quality. Not had them long but have the same range of shorts and they’re holding up really well.

Had to get them from ‘Murica though via eBay as there’s nothing left in Europe as others have mentioned, and everything’s slightly delayed at customs at the moment. Worth the wait.
