I'm looking to upgrade the stock alloy (old narrow style) traverse wheels on my Spesh Enduro expert, as they are some what flexy, tyres buzzing the chainstay at times.
I'm riding red and black at trail centres occasionally but mainly natural stuff with plenty of climbing but gnarly descents here and there so need to be able to handle the likes of the San Marino at Rivi and climb up to it in the first place.
If you have experience of any of the below or offer any alternatives around these prices, the feedback would be much appreciated.
Roval control Trail SL. Carbon, nice and light at 1570GM. I'm concerned that they aren't the more aggressive traverse version but they are £1200, the trails are currently down to £680. Some reviews suggest they are still capable of taking some big hits.
DT Swiss Xm1501 One spline, around £530 with XD freehub. Again seem in the middle of XC (their XR) they don't have the Dh able XE available in 29er flavour. Pretty light and reliable hubs. Not sure how flexy these would be compared with the rovals.
Mavic crossmax XL, £650 and would need to get an XD free hub for 1x11 but come wit tyres, not ones I would normally plump for but review okay. Wheels seem to be bomber strong but no weight saving over the stock.
