You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I am hoping to start building a few small jumps/ kickers and having a general tidy up on my local trails. With the dark evenings and rain almost upon us, I thought it ideal time to go to work on trails.
All I have in my pack are standard-issue secateurs, what else will I need? I have a fold-out shovel but not sure if that's the best approach.
Any advice/ links/ examples greatly appreciated.

Otherwise, compact tools aren't really ideal. There is a reason that the full size versions are as big as they are...
I got some shovels and spades from clearance aisle in asda for £2 each and just stashed them in a bush
lidl have folding hand saws from Thurs this week for £3

I've got a couple of these and they're great for trail work.
