Last week I discovered my gf's bars have been ovalised by an over-tightened stem, this week I've just found a slight bulge further along the bar, accompanied by a slight flat spot underneath.

Bike has a black Thomson stem and Lapierre bars, said gf wants the replacement bars to also be shiny black to match the stem 🙄

Looking at the pics on Evans cycles, they all appear to be matt black but the pics might be deceiving.

My budget is up to £50ish, although she may decide thats too much so cheaper options as well please 🙂

I've got an FSA XC190 handlebar the same as the ones in the link I've just replaced with some wider Haven carbon bars.

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/fsa-xc-190-lx-riser-mtb-handlebar/

They are 680mm width and a shiny black finish - they were used for about 8 months and are in good condition.

Thanks neninja...funnily enough I was just looking at the same ones on CRC at £66 and thinking 'no chance' at that price.

I will let her decide when she gets in, (will be 9pm ish) she is going to Evans anyway to get me a tyre and take back a Dakine bag with an incontinence issue so she might might find something.

I have a 680mm OS Lapierre low-riser bar that I took off my old Zesty.

Never ridden, but has a couple of marks from where controls were fitted - which would probably be concealed by controls - obviously.

Yours for £15 posted, pics available. Email in profile.

🙂

mike...now if they were shiney red... 🙂

chaka, thanks, will also let you know. Sounds good as she likes the bike setup as it is. I'm thinking the bars must be quite thin-walled as when I re-attached them you can't really feel the stem bolts start to tighten up like you do with most, and the bulge...well, she's never crashed heavily on them. I take it the stem area doesn't feel oval when you spin them?

thanks

edit: just seen you've said never ridden so I guess they shouldn't have been overtightened by the shop.

Ritchey 'wet' finish. No idea on rises or widths (or prices) but very shiney!

Thanks Davey, surprisingly they are within budget, £40 at Merlin 🙂

I was expecting some pokey fun at colour co-ordination but its actually been quite successful 🙂
