I'm after a new pair of bars for my road bike. Looking for a full carbon bar, traditional bend (I've had a rather expensive flirtation with an ergonomic bend bar that has proved to be something of a mistake) and not silly money.

The Planet-X Strada bars are a very nice shape but ideally I'd like a touch more drop if possible.

Any ideas?

3T Rotundo's? (Although they fail in the price!)

I quite like Richeys Evocurve bars, far more comfy than the bontranger gergonomic bars they replaced.

But they're alu and ergonomic so not what you're after.

Hi Lunge, I have a mint condition 3T rotundo in 42cm to sell if you're interested?

I decided I needed a compact instead, it's had a year of nice weather use.

It's rock solid and really comfy btw, done a few 6 to 8hr rides on it with no bother.

Email in profile if interested, sorry for spamming yr thread if not!

I thought that the Strada bars were a compact shape (like Deda RHM bars) rather than a traditional bend (like Rotundos)

I'm currently not enjoying the ergonomic bars I have and am considering a cheap set of Deda RHM 02 bars just to see if I like the shape, although looking at the reach and drop I think they're pretty much identical to the Planet-x Strada bars. Hmm.

chakaping, thanks for the offer but I have a somewhat irrational fear of buying bars second hand. Little or no logic to it, but there you go.

And yes, the Rotundo's are a traditional shape which is what I want, it is the ergo shape I'm trying to get away from rather than the depth of drop.

Ritchey Evocurve Carbon. I use the Classic curve in my bikes, but alloy ones instead.

I've just put a set of Thomson carbon bars on my roadie and have been very pleased so far. They have a slightly wider section on top of the bars for your palms but not so wide you can't put things like Garmin holder or lights on there.
