Had an unfortunate dismount at the weekend, among lessons learned such as a proper bandage takes up sod all room I also learned why I wear elbow pads.
One of them was cut off at the hospital so needs to be be replaced. I was wearing a bliss arg and it did it's job, elbow is about the size of my head but nothing broken, Dr not convinced I'd have used it again if I hadn't had pads on.
I could replace like for like but I've arms like a long distance runner not a power lifter so I wear a tiny size& I'm 6'4 so the main result of this is they're quite short.
Much of the damage done to my arm was a root that dug in below the elbow pad for about 3". Can anyone recommend a comfortable *long* elbow pad for all day riding before I just buy more of the same?
Uplift or pedalling?
Pedaling.
Unless you mean when I hit the floor, I don't think I was still pedaling then 😂
Sorry can't really help. I've had the same problem with my pedalling elbow pads. They protect me most of the time from scrapes, but full on OTBs they can ride up.
I've got some longer more hefty Da Kine pads that I bought at BPW, but although they're ok for full days uplifting, I wouldn't want to pedal more than 30-60 minutes wearing them.
Ah yes, I've some full storm trooper 7idp things, they are not pedally day friendly!
I suppose the obvious advice is just fall off less but that's not "fun"
I have to say that getting the right sized bike for the riding that I'm doing has helped massively in terms of the number of times that I fall off whilst having fun.

You see I've found it's drastically increased the number of times in having fun whilst falling off. 😉
