I’ve used the Levis commuter stuff in the past which I’ve liked but seems to not be around so mush any more so does anyone have any other recommendations? Ideal specs are slightly stretchy to resist wearin out too fast, wate resistant enough to survive a very light shower and a zipped pocket on the side for keys is nice
My wife came across a site called discerning cyclist but I’m not sure I trust their reviews. It all looks a little too good and cons you are unlikely to care about

Its a shame you can't get the Surface trousers anymore.
I got some of these for commuting/working in:
Impressed. The vents don't seem to do much but the fabric is excellent - not hot but remarkably weatherproof.
Liking both of those. Too choices. What is the sizing like? Is I hebtroco accurate, ie. two sizes above what everyone else says but obeys international standards of length or is it typical 32 is actually 34
Used these for a couple of winters now on the MTB:

Do everything you are looking for...
+1 for the keelas.
best riding trousers i have owned.
Top choices. Guess I'll take a risk on the sizes
Keela's sizing is accurate.
excellent, cheers

I think thats a bit of a Hebtroco specific foible. Their idea is (as a mail-order model) is take a tape measure to a pair of trouser you own and they base their sizing on that - it works well for them as they're selling direct - almost all of their trousers will be bought by people who won't try them on first. For most trousers the 'waist' measurement is a bit like 'effective top tube' with bikes. Its not the 1920s so peoples trousers don't come up to their waist but a garment size is extrapolated from your waist measurement rather than than where the belt line of the garment (round your hips) will actually go.
I picked up a pair of these from chain reaction a couple of weeks ago. absolute bargain.

If it's on road then I find it much easier just to wear shorts year round. Cut off RAF over shorts for rainy winter days (are a revelation). And I'm no hard man so it's not that I am suggesting you toughen up.. it is just much easier to dispense with longs (but my commute is only an hour or so).
I'm on my second pair of Showers Pass Rogue trousers. I bought a second pair as I was wearing the first pair for pretty much everything. Cheap at the moment too (£67)

adding the Velocity trousers to the mix, cut nice and slim for cycling and look like a normal pair of trousers when off the bike
I'd say the Paramo sizing is accurate, it matches how jeans tend to fit. Legs are a neat cut without being too tight and the stretch in the fabric makes them much nicer to pedal in.
i do already :). Just looking for some alternativesIf it's on road then I find it much easier just to wear shorts year round
Just getting round to ordering. Thanks for all the new replies. Liking the look of the paramo stuff, especially the fair trade manufacture
How are the keela ones length wise?
I am a 30 inside leg and choices are 29 or 32...
