Building a Nomad for use on trails in this country plus yearly trip to Alps involving trails, plus some messing around on downhill courses and bike parks.
What brake set-up would people recommend for this. I've been looking at the Hope Tech M4s and the Formula brakes. Want to avoid the dreaded brake fade as experienced it a lot before in the Alps with the Hope minis. I'm interested to hear if the Tech M4s suffer from this problem.
Cheers
I've got Hope Tech M4's on my Enduro and they are awesome for 1 finger braking. Not experienced any brake fade in the Peak, but that's about as extreme as it gets for me. Waaaay better than the Juicy's on my old bike.
I'm having a bit of a problem with squealing when wet at the moment though, but their stopping power is spot on for a 15st fella (now dropped to 14st). I'm running 203 front/180 rear.
got formula 'the one' on mine - 200 / 180
bike only ever gets ridden in the alps*. never had any fade or any cause to bleed them. changed brake pads once since last july. ridden 3-4 days a week during the summer.
