I'm on the verge of wearing out my much loved Specialized Defrosters, which I've used for pretty much everything apart from summer riding and racing for the last three years. Sadly, due to high arches, the new version of the Defroster doesn't fit my feet.
What's the next best thing? I don't want anything too bulky or hot - I can always add an overshoe if its really cold.
A long shot, but if anyone has a lightly used pair of old style Defrosters in a 45 or 46 that they're not using, I'd be very interested!
interested as also have the older ones which are getting end of their life and I use the blue insert to help my dodgy knees. How have they changed the footbeds ?
Shimano XC50N's?
I normally fit specialized shoes very well (size 9/43) but I fit perfectly and highly rate Shimano MW81's. I went up a size to 44 and they are blimmin brilliant.
They haven't changed the footbeds I don't think, but there's a neoprene wrap that pulls over the boa which isn't wide enough to reach with my odd shaped feet inside.
ah, thanks
Those MW81s look like they might fit the bill. Anything else?
Northwave GTX artic. I like mine so much I wear them untill it's too hot, rather than the alternative of getting into summer shoes ASAP.

They look pretty toasty? What are they like on a warmer wet spring day?
Northwave GTX Celius don't have the furry lining of the Artic version.
