I want to start to riding to work (about 18m) just to boost fitness and increase my ride time
But i can't justify a road bike atm (although I do plan to dip a foot into the darkside at some point) so for now the hardtail will have to do. I'm looking for a set of tires that are going to make it as easy as possible for a 36m round trip and let me get at least some sort of speed going!
Any advice welcome
I use Schwalbe City Jets (1.5 IIRC) on my 'road' MTB. Pumped up to about 55psi they roll pretty quick.
I've just had the same idea and bought some Schwalbe city jets but went for 1.95.
First ride today and I was expecting to notice the difference and be a little quicker but to my surprise it actually felt harder.
I'm hoping I was just after an off day so we'll see how tomorrow goes.
Cheers guys, just seen the city jets on crc for 12.99 so think I might give them a try
