My SPD shoes are shot. They last 3 years but the back of the heel are shredded. I bought the last ones from eBay and are an MTB style (i am mainly a roadie these days). All my bikes have SPD pedals now.

Best do the same again?

What is the best type to buy?

On-One have some cheap Agu shoes.

I bought a pair and have been very impressed!

I think it comes down to personal preference. Go and try some on. I used to love 661's, as they're uber comfy, but fall apart after exactly 12 months. Now I seem to have settled on Northwaves like these, as they seem absolutely bombproof, and last for years, despite being constantly coated in filth

Since you've not stated a budget so are therefore loaded, you should get some S-Works (in "I'm a tart" red obviously)

or some Giro Empires

Yes.

As long as they accept cleats, then they'll be good with SPD.

As others have said, fit is everything, so trying some on is worth it.

Mavic are top of my list at the moment. They fit me well, got good reviews re: durability and they don't look too bad either.

Just ordered a pair of these after trying some on in Decathlon, replacement for some older Shimano shoes which have been very comfortable.

Couldn't find them for £55 though, cheapest I got was £57 using a £5 off voucher at Tredz.
