a-cheap-not-too-cared-if-it-gets-nicked front LED light just to make me a bit more visible if I get caught out late on my way home from the trail
Cheers
Knog frog?
Thing is a cheapo t6 chinese lantern isn't much more and a "proper" light...
I got a "cree" light on ebay for £14...that was for two + a free rear light!
It's really a torch with brackets for handlebars, but they work well enough. I use one on continous and one on strobe.
Wouldn't "Recommend me a cheap front light" have been an easier thing to ask??
STW is very odd when it comes to thread titles!

Best £20 spend I reckon, and will do ON the trail to if your caught out late. Otherwise I would go for a skully if you just want something tiny to make yourself more seen rather than for you to see
There's 2 different things here, seeing and being seen. The DX-style lights are great for seeing with (though, aim them carefully on the road, they are genuinely blinding) but they're not massively visible, especially from the side.
So on the road I use a DX torch, but also a flashing Cateye, which catches the attention in a different way, and another cheapo steady light which has a nice big visible area.
I got a bright one with decent modes from TK Maxx for £3. Really bright, and good on batteries. I think it has 7 LEDs in it.
Just got a front and rear Phaart Strap on from On-One. Knog Frog copies with two Leds in each. Very good for very little money. (cue strap-on jokes :-))

Arrived next day, nice battery pack, does the business 🙂
They have sold 436 without negative feedback, was enough to convince me.
