My dear old mum is looking for an ebike for taking into town/down the canal/up the hill to the farm shop.

The problem I'm having finding one is that she's only  4foot 9 and most small frames I've seen start for people who are 5foot or taller.

Anywhere do anything for the shorties among us?

I'm thinking probably a step through - ideally a bosch motor and if it's under £2k that'll be mega!

Looking for something similar for the GF's mum... Although she's nearer 6ft than 4ft and a bit unsteady on her feet. Thinking a trike type thing like a Bakfiets would be good, but don't really know where to start looking.

There was a £1100 (£3500) Kona step through small posted in the PSA thread yesterday.

Specialized are still doing deals on their Como range:

There is a cheaper Como as well but the one I linked to has a hub gear and belt drive which is a lot simpler and lower maintenance.

£2250 instead of £2400. Their sizing guide doesn't say what size is for what height though, it just has geometry charts. 🙄

Step Through Bikes for Riders 5'2" & Under

Yeah, I had seen these - looks like it's their own motor/battery though so I'd be reluctant to deal with that if/when it goes wrong. Also - throttle option? Is that even legal in the UK?
