Well seeing as no-one can tell me where to get prescription inserts for Rudy Projects & there's loads of advice on bog seats...I now need a new drill, seeing as the stepson's worn my old B&D one out after about a year of constantly scrubbing rust off car wheels with flap wheels!
So, need a hammer action, reversible, variable speed. Budget about £60-80. It won't get loads of use, I'm giving him the low down to get his own.

Something like this ere De Walt should cope with pretty much most situations

Hope this isn't a total hijack but I too am looking for a drill in the same price bracket, but a cordless one. You will gather I know SFA about drills so any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks guys.

cu dubh

If it's for occasional use I'd say stick with a corded job.

I have a pair of Ryobi jobbies with nicd batteries. They're pretty much useless now because they didn't get a lot of use and the batteries just die.

Because I like toys, I started buying decent kit and now have Makita 18v li-on stuff. Unfortunately you start paying serious/silly money (like this).

Unless you're aiming on doing things seriously and NEED cordless, buy a decent corded job. It'll be a better long term investment. - carlosg's link should be good.

Bnq did an 18 volt bosch li ion cordless with 2 batterys ( smallish capacity keeping it light to work with)

Its been a corker for me

Got a bosch corded drill also i bought previous that only really comes out now if im doing alot of drilling into block work.

Its previous life was flapper wheeling a land rover chassis and it did that well.

Sds really is the bollocks for stone , borrowed my dads 24v hitachi sds gun - makes light work of 20mm holes in stone 🙂
