I'm not planning on doing a lot of night riding but could do with a reasonably small rear light that I can keep in my pack for occasional use. Prefer aaa or aa batteries and something without a bracket that attaches to the seatpost.
Much obliged.
This one is great, I bought a few at this price, they normally sell at a fiver which is still a massive bargain:

With fresh batteries, it's a great little light and very bright, £1.99!!!
The moon Sheild 60 is arriving any day now, and at £25 is the cheapest I've found, that is going to be my main road daytime commuter light.
Ive got both those lights. The phart is nice and cheap and looks reasonably bright. The moon shield blows ITT out of the water but doesn't use AA or AAA as it has its own internal battery.
I have the phart clipped onto my pack all the time, just in case.
But just to clarify the phart is good considering it's a 10th of the price of the moon shield.
I just bought a phaart one for each bike. Was fed up moving one expensive light or forgetting it etc. At that price no reason not to at least have one as a backup
Agree with the Phaart suggestion; bought a handful of both the Bleep & Booster models when they went down to a ludicrous £.99 ea. The clips fit the standard Smart mount, which can help with swapping between bikes if you've already lost/broken a Smart or two...
Also a Moon Shield fan; use it year round when on the roads and it's been great. Clip broke, so unit now glued on to mount & is unstrapped to charge. The rubber strap is thankfully way better than the knog & exposure ones.
Thanks guys, I'll take a look at the Phart!
Moon shield 60 is really bright.. I have it on flash mode on the back of my helmet.
Not sure whether it's a good hi viz idea or whether it irritates drivers with its bright flashing.. Like waving a red cloak at a bull resulting in more close passes
