I've been carrying my blackburn mtb mini pump around with me on my road bike for a year or so and never used in anger

Punctured on friday and found it's not really the tool for the job

CRC have hundereds of the damn things - recommend me a good road bike pump please

Well the Road Morph really does work, it will put in the PSIs easilly in seconds. However it is bulky. It's so good I'll still shove it in my jersey.
However if someone can come up with a pump that gets tyres up to 120 within two minutes without having to pump like a demented hampster and is small I'd like to hear from you.

Edit; I have tried some mini pumps and they've all been useless, apart from not getting the tyres up there they can also snap the valves.

I carry a Spesh Air Tool (road) - skinny little thing, clips onto bottle cage mounts, so frame size doesn't matter. Works ok too.

I have a topeak mini from Halfords. Mounts on the bottle cage bolts, forget about it till I need it. When I have needed it it's done a fine job of getting the tyres up to reasonable pressure, although it takes a bit of effort. I don't know of any mini hand pump that can get road tyres up to full pressure though, be interested to hear of any as well.

I just take a CO2 inflator, and 2 spare cartridges..

Oh, and my phone- If I puncture more than twice, I'll ring up the wife to come and collect me, as I'm clearly having a bad hair day...

(I've not had to ring her. Yet...)

Zefal HPX.

proper size, made of metal, just works.

the pump you lend to someone who's been flailing about with a mini-pump for 5 minutes, out of pity, and a desire to get home.

I use a Topeak frame fit one - doesn't seem particularly heavy, fits the frame nicely rather than having to use a nasty plastic mount thing. Pumps tyres up to full presure fairly quick (has a high pressure switch for the vinegar strokes)

I and a couple of other fellow riders use the pocket rocket (when we're out of CO2 of course)

In the same position as the OP, and the 'choice' has come down to a Road Morph or a Mini Morph.

Bought a Lezyne mini, very neat idea with a reversible flexi hose for Presta and Schrader

+1 for Lezyne mini pumps. I have a Pressure Drive, a tiny but well made piece of kit.

Just bought a Blackburn Airstik (SL I think) from probike kit. Used it first outing last week when riding buddy got a flat, it worked far better than what he had. Its looks very nice too.
