As per the title really, smaller lady needing a new gravel-type bike, with flat bars.
Around £1000 to spend via the Cycle2Work scheme.
Any suggestions or recommendations out there please ?
TIA

Yeah I know, but possibly something more robust with greater tyre clearances .....

Bit wider tyres than some gravel bikes and would give greater confidence off road with them On One Boot Zipper, you could always buy some narrower tyres for it and still have plenty of change out of £1k.

How small?

Fit is everything when you're of the petite/stumpy build.

You have my sympathy OP, went with the OH to a bike shop today as his work is sprinkling "wellness payments" down on him & colleagues, which can, apparently, be spent on a bicycle.
He has a 36" inside leg and the world's tightest hamstrings.
It was not a happy visit, but the LBS *did* recommend a local bike fit consultant.
It's very discouraging when you're not an average size and shape.

She's about 5'7, so not particularly petite or stumpy
