I'd love to ride some of the great single track Europe has to offer next year but as I might be on my own I'd have no idea where to start and guess I'd need a guide to get the best out of it.
I'm not looking to ride a DH series trail, my ride at home is a Stanton Sherpa which is mostly for XC but I've been to Coed y Brenin, Llandegla etc quite a few times, I'd just like to ride some awesome single track in an equally awesome location.
Any recommendations or advice would be very much appreciated. Cheers.

Have a look at Bike Verbier. There is a reason why people keep going back.

OP most of the guided holidays have a base and they ride the surrounding area using ski lifts, van uplifts and possibly the odd bus. Travelling alone is fine, just share a room. I'll list some stw favourites - there are many threads. Also check Facebook

White Room Chalet - owner stevo posts regularly, I have skied with them twice. Excellent
Trail Addiction - Les Arc and Destination-X (Areches Beaufort) which I have done. Just as they advertise it miles of single track and deserted.
Bike Riviera - I met one of the owners on a UK ride and she was delightful
Bike Verbier - legendary, relatively pricey as its Switzerland
Basque MTB - owner posts regularly, look fabulous

There are many others

Note if you wamt a point to point style trip you have Tour du Mont Blanc but that's got a lot of pedalling

Also do your research now and book before Christmas, the season is short and dayes can sell pit quite quickly

Yes, I went this year with a few friends. Steve and Eleanor have just moved out there and he reckons the weather is better than sameons and has some of the best single track he's ever ridden (and he's written books on it - Steve Mallett is his name). I've only been to the Alps once before (les arcs) so I don't have much to compare to but I preferred briancon region. One of the lads who came with us has been to the Alps every year for as long as I can remember and he agreed it was some of the best trails he'd ridden.

It's mostly singletrack, some bike park but even that seems natural, fast and flowy. There's pretty much all types of trail there. I'll be going back next year.

I've been to bike village in les arcs, the guides rode big forked hardtails.

If you are OK with switch backs plus exposed trails the riding was amazing.

I also went to bear back biking in whistler canada. They are bike Park based, but happy to guide mental singletrack.as in more mental than the double black bike Park technical if you are up for it 🙂

I went to Trail Addiction a couple of years back. It was great - a bit of fitness required but some great long days with (mostly) life accessed singletrack. I haven't done lots of guided MTB (I've mostly ridden DH / bikepark in the Alps), but I was very impressed with the setup and the riding.

How about a Trans Provence guided week?
A week's guided riding (by Ash, the race organiser) following the race route of the Trans Provence.

Bit further afield an Atlas Traverse in Morocco with KE... great riding and the culture thing too.

Tour Mont Blanc, great riding and gabby scenery.

Thanks for all the tips and ideas folks. I'll take a bit of time to have a good luck at all of these.

Thanks again.

Can't recommend White Rooms too highly tbh but it is a bit #enduro, mostly not very UK trail centre at all (they tend to stay off the simple bikepark stuff much of the time, and the best of the riding round there is mostly fairly natural and pretty hard in places). Personally I'd be happy doing it all on a sherpa but it'd be quite a bit harder- some of the days are long, I was quite broken by the end of our day in Pila frinstance though I could have just stopped for 5 minutes 😆 The setup's fantastic, great location, great food, top guides, pretty much my perfect holiday tbh. Even without the legend that was Yvan: Megafrench Bike Yoda.

Bike Village might be a good compromise though? Same area but a different approach, ChrisL is out there again right now, his 3rd or 4th time I think, I'm sure he'll be raving when he gets back. Sam seems a top boy too.
