Just cracked my faithful 13 year old carbon Scott so I need to replace it.
Clearly I am a decade out of the loop for full suss frames so really don't know what to look for. Please can people recommend me some frames I should look for in the classifieds and ones I should avoid.
I don't need links to specific frames unless you want to, more I need advice about which ones I should be looking for.
Size Large, 6ft (Me, not the bike)
Riding style - Oafish and heavy.
Riding terrain - Mainly Southern woodlands (Lordswood, QE Park, Swinley) but with the odd trip over to Wales where I like to chase the big bikes down the hills (the Scott ws on the edge of it's limits for this)
Budget - £300-400 frame only
Wheel size - Who gives a ...
Orange 5.
Cannondale Prophet maybe?
Orange 5 with 650 tyres?

Avoid commencal and lapierre, loads of breakages.
avoid pace, english premium for taiwan stuff.
i like merida, as cheap and v good on the qt.
