I'm after a cheapish headset to fit a 44mm headtube for use with a tapered steerer.
I don't want to spend too much as it'll only be one of the backup bikes and won't get ridden too much, so i'm guessing that'll rule out Hope & CK.
Any other recommendations?
I'm not too bothered by colour options as long as it's not white.
Cheers.
May as well try the morning crowd....
Try a cheapy FSA. Or Superstar.
Is it Integrated/semi integrated/external cup?
Internal at the top, but will need and external cup at the bottom due to the taper.
The superstar ones are out of stock at the moment and have been for a while otherwise I'd have got one of them, hence my question.
Not that you were to know that.
It bright even be worth buying 2 cheap headsets to get the top/bottom combo you need, if you can't find the exact one?
Hope pick-n-mix is much cheaper than a full Hope headset (my LBS did me one for about £45, fitted), as long as you don't want the Head Doctor or any colour other than black.
Nukeproof Warhead? I have one on my Slackline and it seems okay, they have two flavours one for tapered and one for straight, both for 44mm headtube.
Cane Creek Ten?
Madison do an M:part cartridge bearing 44mm tapered headset.
Could be worth a look.
