I'm going to get my dad a book on nutrition because i'm convinced he doesn't eat right for a person at 70 years old & i think a bit of knowledge could improve his cycling performance.
He's the super active grafter type that rides his bike loads but just gets less & less fit. He skips meals, or rarely finishes them when he does have them and then it tends to be a load of crap (crunchy nut cornflakes with double cream & treacle for breakfast?).

I would be grateful if someone could steer me towards something which is has cycling based content as well.

Or more generally, Fast After 50by Joe Friel is a general book about maintaining performance as you age and includes stuff on nutrition:

There'll be more to it than just nutrition. As you get older you need to train smarter to maintain speed and power or you just spiral into a world of extended ploddery...

+1 for Fast After 50, dad got himself a copy last year and took quite a few ideas from it.

50 is still young. I've read that book and gave it away.

Too much time wasted on boring shit. Once you hit 70 you don't have that sort of time to waste not having fun. 🙂

'crunchy nut cornflakes with double cream & treacle for breakfast' Mmmm, sounds yum.

@finephilly
Wasn't there some huge controversy about durianrider being abusive to his girlfriend and generally being a toxic person?

That sounds like the breakfast of champions and is now on the must try list. What other culinary delights does your dad know of?
