After a lightweight 24" wheel bike for my boy that doesn't break the bank like an Islabike but is of a similar spec.
All the ones I'm finding are built like tanks.

Recently bought my nephew a Ridgeback RX24, I was suitably impressed and he loves it! (He was even at BPW with it the other day!)
More than light enough for the age, and also more than tough enough to put up with the way kids that age treat a bike!
