I know nothing about this wheel size but would like to try a second set of wheels on my Solaris Max. Can anyone recommend anything with a pretty tight budget of around £300 max? Also a stupid question, will I need to adjust my brakes when I swap the wheels around?
I had these on my SolarisMax, they are very good wheels IMO.
Not used much and selling at a big loss now, because my new bike can't take B+...

No need to adjust brakes.
It can also be really good just using the B+ rear with a 2.5 or 2.6in 29er tyre on front.
Try Hunt, they're fairly new to the industry but are getting good reviews. I think they only do boost though, depends what you want.
Fulcrum can often be found with discounts, Shimano XT if you,'re happy with cup and cone maintenance ( in which case, you can keep them going for ages), DT Swiss 1900s, 1700s if you can get a price reduction. Lots of others but I am not sure on prices. Superstar mixed reviews, Hope, their rims seem heavy for the price and seem to get mixed reviews (not so the hubs though)
Recommend Hunt too. Got Enduro Wide set on my RocketMAX running Minion 2.8 front and Aggressor 2.6 rear. Very solid wheels.
I’d recommend Hope or preferably DT waaaayyyy ahead of Hunt.
I had a set of these for 3.5 years with no issues. Cartridge hubs - easy to service.
Halo vapour
Hope Focus 35's. 3200km with no problems. Is it wrong in this climate to say "buy British"? (I feel a lot of abuse coming...) 🙂
EDIT: I also have Hunt on my road bike - good wheels. Enduro Wide 27.5+ would have been nice if offered with my MTB when bought. Considering as a second set of wheels in 29 form.
I’m running a set of stans baron s1 with wtb ranger 2.8 tyres. Smooth no name hubs not too heavy and crc have em for £315

Brakes line up with my other wheels which are dt350s.
