I've got an old and well used Wildcat Gear Tiger harness. This does the job, but its a right faff to remove stuff and pack down smaller or vice versa - its got a separate dry bag inside the harness but you then have to tighten/loosen all the retaining straps.

Im looking for something simpler which I can just pull clothing out of, cinch down easily and get on with riding - or stuff layers back in if I warm up.

Any suggestions? Needs to be able to hold a down jacket, spare base layer, jersey and maybe even a few other bits for bikepacking occasionally.

Ortlieb would be my first thought.

When I looked, apidura were the lightest fully waterproof all-in-one saddlebags.

Get waterproof not water resistant. Probably narrows it down a fair bit and hikes the price, but makes total sense as it's directly in the firing line of your rear wheel spray.

Cheaper - Lomo or Alpkit
Not as cheap - Orlieb, Apidura or Revelate.

Other option for actual bikepacking - I prefer to use the seatpack for sleeping gear that goes in and stays put, use a bar bag/roll that's easier to access for clothing. For that way of doing things the Wildcat seat pack system is hard to beat.

Revelate Spinelock.

Waterproof. bombproof and does not swing about. The large is massive, get the smaller one.

Available from Backcountry.Scot

Depending on where you are going don't rely on any bag being waterproof. Always put your stuff in a dry sack inside the bag no matter how good the brand is.......unless perhaps its an ortlieb.
